Strengthening young people’s transversal competences through peer mentoring

Stronger Youth is an Erasmus+ funded project with a duration of two years, from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2025. Its main objective is to provide a comprehensive methodology and toolkit to promote peer mentoring in order to prevent depression and social exclusion among young people.

The Stronger Youth approach also includes a comprehensive set of tools designed to facilitate the peer mentoring process. The project’s mission is to equip resilient young people with the necessary skills to support their peers through a range of activities and tools.

The project consortium is composed of six countries and includes several partners with expertise in the field, including PRISM (Italy), which acts as project coordinator, Pelican (Czech Republic), University of Évora (Portugal), VITECO (Italy), Frame (Poland), CPIP (Romania) and Innohub (Spain).

Kick-off Meeting

On 31 January and 1 February 2024, the kick-off meeting of the project was held in Évora (Portugal). This event marked the official start of activities and provided an opportunity to discuss some key points of the project.

Assessment tool

An online tool is being developed for young people to assess their interpersonal competences. It will allow them to identify their soft skills, strengths and weaknesses, and whether they are ready to be mentors. This tool, accessible as a self-test, will provide a diagnosis based on their answers.
