At the end of October last year, the project partners held a face-to-face meeting in Valencia to coordinate the next phases of work. During this meeting, the key activities to be implemented in the coming months were defined, ensuring that the project progresses efficiently and in line with its objectives.
Launching of the competency assessment tool (OSAT)
One of the most important milestones achieved recently is the launch of a digital tool designed to assess the social competencies of adolescents. This platform, accessible through the project’s website, allows young people to answer a series of questions to measure their level of self-knowledge. At the end of the assessment, they receive a report with feedback on their skills and areas for improvement, which helps them to better understand their personal development.
Resources and materials
In addition to the assessment tool, the project has developed a set of materials specifically designed to foster peer-to-peer learning and support. This resource includes a series of dynamics and practical activities that seek to strengthen the personal and social competencies of mentors, while providing support to young people facing difficulties such as risk of social exclusion or emotional problems.
Preparations and pilot tests in Palermo
The next step within the project will be the pilot phase, scheduled for next month in the city of Palermo. During this test period, the effectiveness of the tools developed will be evaluated and work will be carried out with adolescents who will actively participate in the initiative.
To ensure that the accompaniment process is successful, a Guide for Educators has been developed, a document that provides guidance to the professionals in charge of supervising the implementation of the peer-to-peer learning method. The involvement of educators is essential to ensure that young people receive adequate support and that the activities are implemented effectively.
In order to maximize the impact of the project internationally, all materials developed, including the Educators’ Guide, the mentoring resources and the evaluation tool, are available in the languages of the participating countries: Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Romanian and Czech.
